  • Post Script: I should have said, this is 3+ hrs of paddling with maybe some chop in the estuary, so you need to be a 2* paddler with some trip experience. Not for new starters.

  • We would be keen to join you, preferably on the sea e.g from Exmouth - Ladram as you suggested. Depends on how the wind forecast evolves. Richard and Ellie.
  • Sounds good David. If we're heading to Exmouth could I get a lift from someone?
  • Sorry not to join you: not up for the early start yet but look forward to being fully fit in a couple of weeks!
  • Sounds good but I will probably bail out in Exmouth because I want to sail in the afternoon
  • Ah sorry, can't make this after all. Keen for a paddle Sunday or Monday though if anyone wants to join me?
  • A paddle from Exmouth (Orcombe Rocks) looks a possibility, though wind forecast still uncertain. Looks like W / SW F5-3, which could make paddling back to Orcombe, against wind and tide, a bit stiff. Let's meet at boat shed for 0830 hrs and decide then.

  • David - I am up for a paddle but would prefer an Exeter to Exmouth trip. Happy to go with the flow if the majority want something different although I will need to finish in Exmouth or near to Exmouth due to other commitments. See you at 8.30. Owen. Any questions please call 07917 658049
  • Anyone fancy a sea paddle this Sunday 6th May? Forecast looks good: sunny with light Easterly wind, High water in Lyme bay area around 1100 hrs, approaching neaps, with East running stream of less than 0.5 knots until about 1500 hrs. Thought maybe Lyme Regis, or Teignmouth, or Exmouth start / finish, but open to suggestions. Meet at McClaine's 0830? This would be a Friends trip, 2* plus, some sea experience, comfortable paddling c.15 kilometres.

I could paddle Sunday 6th. I''m fit enough for 15 km is in easy to moderate conditions, but not for eg 7km long slog into strong wind. So it depends a bit: what you suggest looks fine but if you need to change plans to something tougher I might not be in.
  • I am up for a paddle this weekend is the proposal Sat or Sunday or both days?

  • Sorry folks, I have had problems with this posting, it keeps attaching my messages to ab old train, hence date confusion. It is definitely Sunday 6th May, meet at the club 0830 hrs, and we seem to have enough paddlers. I favour Teignmouth Polly Steps to minimise boat carrying. My mobile number is 07786 861513 for surer communications.

  • Hi David, keen to come along tomorrow if anyone's got space for me & boat?
    Cheers, Rob
  • Don't think I can make it tomorrow have a good trip

  • I can take you and your boat Rob, together with Tony plus boat. I am sure the conditions will be fine for you Jacqui. See you at McClaine's tomorrow 0830.

Thank you David, Mike, Rob and Tony, in alphabetical order, for a fantastic Bank Holiday paddle! According to the map, we did 14 or 15km (Teignmouth, Polly steps, to Oddicombe beach & Cliff railway and back) - and the rock hoppers did more! The shelduck and baby cormorant were fun, as well as glorious weather and cool green water: may future paddles be as good as this one!
