Updated - I am planning to complete the River Wye 85 mile Challenge over a long weekend in August. Glasbury to Redbrook. The detailed itinerary is set out on the Go Paddling Website (Paddle UK).

The maximum daily distance is 28 miles which means 6 to 7 hours paddling on the longest day so you need to be ready to spend that amount of time in your boat. The other days will be a maximum of 6 hours on the water with plenty of opportunities for rest stops on all days. The final day is a short day which then allows time for a reverse shuttle to collect cars. Before anyone questions my maths please remember that there is normally river flow on most sections and this adds to your speed over the ground. The plan is to camp every night and to carry our gear in the boats. Pub food normally available close to each camp site. I will check the campsite availabilities before posting a final itinerary. By naming the daily launch point this is intended to give people the option of only joining us for a shorter section. My plan would be to arrange a shuttle back from Redbrook to drop the drivers back to their respective start points. My recommendation is to use plastic sea kayaks because there are gravel banks in some sections if the water level is low. The trip is also open to Canoes but you might need to plan for slightly longer days if in a Canoe. I once went down with friends in a canoe and they were never far behind. Launch 9.30 am on Friday 20th August at Digeddi Campsite So an early start from Exeter or stay up at the campsite the night before.
In view of the very limited interest, I am now planning to do this as a family trip with my son using our own kayaks. We have camp sites booked for the 4 nights (staying overnight just downstream from Glasbury before we start). I am still very happy to share our itinerary with anyone who might like to do part or all of the trip with us however you will need to sort your own boats and logistics. I have arranged for a shuttle back to the start at the end of day 4 if anyone joins part way down.

I would certainly be interested if we did it in August!
I'd be interested. Depending on days I could do stints of a couple of days in August midweek e.g. 18 - 20th or 25th - 28th August. Do have some short meetings I'd just need to work around though.
