Rescue and Emergency Kit For Sale
Many of you will know I have been diagnosed as having Parkinsons. Sadly, this means that I am increasingly uncomfortable sitting in a canoe or a kayak so I have realised that, after 58 years of thoroughly enjoying my paddling, the time has come where I need to stop.
This means that all my extensive collection of boats and associated kit needs to find new homes where it can be enjoyed so, here goes with a series of adverts. I am advertising to ECC members first, in the hope that I can encourage some of you to progress in the sport I love! However, I will soon advertise more widely.

Throw Tow Jeff Allen designed combines a 15m sea kayak tow line and throw bag in one. Waist worn with quick release, 2 carabinas and a quick release clip to hang on buoyancy aid shoulder strap so it's always to hand. Good condition £50
Howard Jeffs temporary boat repair kits £10 SOLD
Icom analogue vhf radio with charger and waterproof case. This radio is waterproof but operating it inside the case cuts down on wind interferance. The radio has never been wet! £85 SOLD
Electronic 'Flare' battery operated, waterproof and can be seen for miles. Why use a pyrotechnic flare when you could use this? Much safer. £50 SOLD
Mc Murdo Fast Find Beacon. alerts emergency services to your location globally, 5 years remaining on replacement 7 year battery. Floats and is waterproof. £100 SOLD
Fine laser pen. point it at a passing ship and they will see a red line but don't point it at people or approaching rescue craft! £10
Palm Alpine 20m Throwline and Zambezi waist belt with tow line in a pocket. This is a heavier duty throw line intended for securing and recovering boats rather than swimmers. There is a quick release attachment to the belt and the belt has a quick release. The pocket on the Zambezi belt has a flat water tow line but I've never established when I might want a flat water tow line and a heavy throw line at the same time! The pocket is great though for storing things like karabinas, slings and other rescue kit if you remove the tow line. £40
Palm Ocean Pro 10 m towline, does what it says! Not the latest design but it works. Sold
Whetman long and contact towline, again, does what it should and you have the option of a long or a contact tow. £40
Palm flat water 5m towline with quick release, I have 2 of these. £10 each both SOLD but there is still a Nookie brand one, which is similar.
2 Yak 20m throw lines for helping swimmers, the line floats and has some elasticity to help reduce the forces involved, always carried, seldom used for real! £15 each 1 sold, 1 remaining
2 HF Rescue Pro 20m throw lines, heavier but still floating line intended for recovering boats, again, always carried and seldom used for real. £30 each
4 palm quick open spring gate rescue carabiners, used with throw lines in recovery, again, always carried and seldom used for real. £10 each 2 SOLD

You too Maggie, the 2 carabinas are yours and will be at the meeting tonight. The Palm tow line is as compact as you will find a sea kayak tow line, I'll bring it too...
