Sat 16 August sea kayak award skills day UPDATED

SK award skills day.

The weather forecast is for strong winds from the East so we cannot go on the sea. I suggest we go to the most sheltered spot which is Kingswear, and we will probably have to stick to the estuary. Even with the shelter we can expect F5 gusting to F7, so paddlers who are not ready to paddle in these kind of winds need to drop out of the trip. The top end of SK award standard is the top of F3, so tomorrow's weather will be much higher than that.

Please reply to say whether you still want to come along. 8.15am at the club, or 9.15am at the Kingswear slipway near the Lower Ferry.

    I can't say the gusting ?F7 in Plymouth Sound with Nigel wasn't a tad challenging but would still like to go, if you have enough peeps to make the trip viable and you're happy for me to join Jane

    Jo. It will be windy and at times a bit of a slog into the wind and you will need to work hard to control the direction. I suggest you might enjoy a different day. I have chatted you Jane and it will be more of an endurance day rather than a skills day.
