Sat 5 April sea kayak trip UPDATED * 2
It is due to be really quite windy on Saturday, and from the East. It needs to be an estuary again. HW Dartmouth 12.03, so we can go up an estuary and back. HW Plymouth 11.30.
A choice: Salcombe to Kingsbridge and back, or Plymouth up to Calstock and back. If we go to Plymouth, Nigel please could you suggest a launch point. Does Cargreen work with those tides? Or Weir Quay, I haven't launched there before. These launch points would keep up out some of the worst of the wind.
Decision: meet Weir Quay at 9.45am. PL20 7BS. Approx location for what 3 words is uncle.wobbling.waving
Nigel please can you confirm the exact location of the slipway.

I'd like to join if you're going to Plymouth. I'll pick up a boat on Friday if so.
I have never launched at Cargreen but have scouted it out before - I was put off by lack of parking. Weir Quay is good. Plenty of parking, and a slipway that works at all levels of tide without getting muddy. If you do decide on Weir Quay, I will travel direct.
The slipway at Weir Quay is at What3Words ///yield.forgiving.unfocused although the parking is a few hundred yards away along the road at ///passage.validated.slipped . The slipway is wide but often quite busy as it is the launch point of the local gig club too. However, there is plenty of room and we can always put kayaks on the ajoining beach whist getting ready. A trolley is a good idea if you have one.
