Sun 4 August sea kayak trip suitable for new sea kayakers and more experienced UPDATED

There will be a trip on Sunday 4 August. Suitable for new sea kayakers and more experienced people are welcome.

We will go to Brixham, as it provides some shelter from the wind, which is forecast to be around F4. Meet 8am at the club, or 9am at Brixham Oxen Cove car park, TQ5 8AY.

Paddlers can choose what to do on the day, some journeying and / or skills. The water is warm now so it would be useful if paddlers who have not practised a rescue this year to practise this skill. The club expects all sea kayakers to practise being rescued at least once per year. If you are going on the Falmouth trip then please ensure you have done this before that weekend.

  • I’ll join please
  • I'd like to come please if there is still space. If my boat is still poorly I'd like to borrow one if that's ok

  • Yes please. I might need a lift for me and a boat - I'll confirm by the end of Friday whenever I hear from the garage.
  • I'd be interested as well. Would need a boat. No roof rack but happy to take people.

  • I've got my car back now, so I've got room for a boat for me and someone else

  • I would like to come, can get hold of the van and roof rack if needed otherwise partner would like to take the van. Can you let me know if we have enough kayak carrying capacity!

  • Yes, please, if the numbers allow?

I'll be self sufficient, can carry people but only my own kayak.

  • Sorry, I’m unwell and unlikely to be sufficiently recovered in time for Sunday, so I’m dropping out.

I've been asked to work the later twilight shift at work (midnight finish). Still hoping to attend, just risk shift could overun into early hours. Will update on here whether to expect me.

  • I will come via the Club, and can carry two extra kayaks and people.

  • I am sorry to miss this trip, but I am going to have to drop out.

  • I will come in van then will have space for one or two kayaks and one person, as can’t work out from chat if we need more kayak carrying or not!
Will just need help putting kayaks on as not done before but do have ratchet straps

  • Just walked in from work so afraid won't be in tomorrow
  • Hi Jane, I have reported the leak in the yellow avocet. Thank you for a lovely day again ☺️
