Friday Night Pool Sessions

We have been in communication with Teignbridge Canoe Club, who are able to offer us a few spaces each week for Pool sessions at Dawlish Leisure Centre, on Friday nights. You can take your own very clean kit, (sea or short Kayak), Buoyancy aid and helmet must be worn. Coaching is now being offered, you will get the full hour in the pool.

The pool is amazing and the club members are all very friendly. Our members are welcome to book places through the following link. Please read the instruction carefully, as its fully automated and you will be dealing directly with another club. In saying that, if you do have any questions, I'm very happy to answer as best I can.

  • I’d like to go this Friday. I’ll try booking again as something went wrong last time.

  • Hi Jason, how did the booking for tonight go? would you like a companion??

  • The canoe session was really helpful and the pool is a great size. Loads of space for several boats. The instructor had a method of teaching the roll which has amazing results. Well worth going. I can’t do this coming Friday but I’ll be back on the 22nd. Anyone who wants to join let me know and I can take you and kayak from the clubhouse around 6-6.30-pm.

Friday 9 Feb I am going to Dawlish, along with my niece Sophie. Sophie is a kayak polo player and rolls and handrolls for fun. She is happy to teach rolling to other people who are coming along. If you would like some teaching, reply to this thread and we can agree on what boats to take. It is easier to teach rolling when the paddler is using a short kayak.
We will be washing kayaks on Friday at the club at some stage.

  • Sounds like fun :)

  • I am also going this Friday 2nd if anyone is interested

  • There are 8 more sessions at Dawlish pool this season, they're also offering coaching if required.

  • can I bring a non-member friend to the Friday pool session in Dawlish? They are joining in the new season.
