Sea Kayak Camping - how to pack a kayak - demo - 4 April

A sea kayak is a fantastic load carrying boat for multi-day camping trips.
For those who haven't camped from a sea kayak before, I will put on a demonstration of how I pack a sea kayak for an overnight trip on Tuesday, 4th April. Hopefully, it will be useful for those planning to join us on the Club camp at Sharpham on the river Dart on 22 April.
This isn't for advanced paddlers - anyone who has paddled a sea kayak or wants to paddle a sea kayak is welcome -it is gateway to adventure.
Meet on the Quay outside AS Watersports at 6.30 pm.

  • I'll try to make that, even though I can't make the camp.
  • Nigel see you on Tuesday.

  • Nigel I’m coming along this evening.
  • I hope that those who came this evening found it useful. For those coming on the Sharpham trip in a few weeks time, I may have a few spare drybags if you need them.

  • I've noticed some of the cheaper dry bags e.g. from GoOutdoors say they're "fully waterproof" but also say not to submerge - is that them being cautious/pointing out you shouldn't go swimming with it for long periods of time, or are those not suitable for kayaking use? Being in a hatch, there shouldn't be much water unless things go rather wrong!
