Tuesday 25 November Briefing for Touring paddle in the dark
Several paddlers would like to go on a touring paddle in the dark. At this time of year we don't need to be out at midnight, we can do it at 4pm. I propose to put on a paddle in the Exe estuary on a Saturday afternoon in the next few weeks. We will launch from somewhere like Starcross and stay in the lower part of the estuary, navigating using the buoys and lights.
There are various techniques to paddling and navigating in the dark and it is easier to do the discussion of this in the club rather than just before going on the water. Therefore if you would like to come on the trip please come to the club's committee room on Tuesday 25 November at 8.15pm. You are welcome to come and listen even if you don't want to come on the paddle.
If you have a 1:25,000 map or chart of the estuary please bring it along.
