***Cancelled***Foundation Safety and Rescue Training, 15 August 2015
There aren't enough people seeking this training and available on the day so, reluctantly, I have cancelled it.
If people want the training at another time, let's see what we can arrange....
I am offering to run Foundation Safety and Rescue Training at the club on Saturday 15 August 2015.
This training is a pre-requisite for anyone seeking to train as a UKCC L1 Coach and is extremely useful for everyone who has consolidated their 2* skills. It will provide plenty of rescue skills for those seeking 3* training and/or assessment.
Jane, Richard and I will follow this up with a less formal but equally useful day of sea kayak incident management practice where we will share some of the new techniques and equipment use we have just acquired on our course with Sea Kayaking Cornwall. We will do this on Sunday 16 August, we will decide upon a time and venue for this nearer the time and I'll update this post accordingly.
For the Saturday, participants will need to bring all the paddling and safety related kit they have but should not buy any additional kit until they have seen what is available and best suits their needs. I will have plenty of equipment for participants to try, 'though clearly not a comprehensive range! We will use a variety of craft, club boats and/or bring your own.

We will start with some introduction and theory in the meeting room above the changing rooms and then we will get very wet!
Saturday will commence at 9am sharp at the club. Come prepared for an action packed day! Bring lunch, snacks and drinks.
While I will keep the weather forecast in mind, at this point I cannot imagine any August weather short of flooding that will cause the day to be cancelled.
