Winter touring paddles
I am glad everyone enjoyed the touring trip on Saturday. I will try to lead some more trips over the winter. When choosing the days I will be looking for
• winds less than 15 mph
• weather not too cold
• not much water in the rivers
The trips may be put on the forum with only a few days' notice so do watch the forum.
Places where we might go are:
• River Exe: Club to Exmouth
• River Teign: Newton Abbot upstream and then to Teignmouth
• River Dart: Totnes to Dartmouth
• Kingsbridge to Salcombe plus the creeks
• River Avon: Aveton Gifford to Bantham
• River Yealm: Newton Ferrers towards Yealmpton and back
• Rivers Plym, Tavy, Tamar and Lynher. Lots of options here but we need to find some public launch points upstream. Suggestions welcome.
• River Fowey: Lostwithiel to Fowey plus the creeks
• River Camel: Polbrock to Padstow or Rock
• River Taw: Barnstaple to Instow
• River Torridge Landcross to Instow. Can we launch at Weare Gifford and does the river flow to Landcross without obstruction?
Do let me know if you have any favourite trips you would like to do or know of good launch spots.

Sounds great, and I'm happy to research some of these. Certainly the Newton Ferrers trip is a good one. Launch at The Ship, two hours before HW up the river and back again. Maybe a bit earlier if we are going to picnic. Enough parking and no shuttle reqd.
