Introduction to white water Saturday 6th December. *** UPDATED ***

Water levels permitting I will run an introduction to white water from the club on Saturday 6th December. Meet at 2pm for boat/kit selection. Paddle to Blue Bridge where we will portage on to the river and paddle up to Salmon Pool Weir. Spend time below the weir introducing moving water skills below the weir. Due to the limited space places will be limited to 6. Return to the club around 4.30pm.

I have had a look at the weir today (Thursday). Although the water levels have subsided over the last two days there is still a heavy flow away from the weir and the water below is quite disturbed. Paddling up to this area from the portage in short boats is going to be hard. There is more heavy rain forecast for tomorrow and further rain on Saturday. I would expect river levels to rise again on Saturday morning.
Reluctantly this session will be canceled. I will keep trying for another date.
