Many of you will know I have been diagnosed as having Parkinsons. Sadly, this means that I am increasingly uncomfortable sitting in a canoe or a kayak so I have realised that, after 58 years of thoroughly enjoying my paddling, the time has come where I need to stop.
This means that all my extensive collection of boats and associated kit needs to find new homes where it can be enjoyed so, here goes with a series of adverts. I am advertising to ECC members first, in the hope that I can encourage some of you to progress in the sport I love! However, I will soon advertise more widely.
Please express interest on the relevant thread, by email to bdfthomas@outlook.com or on 07982 241730. I will read all responses and respond!

Mk 1 Scorpio
This is the larger of the two sizes available at the time. Many of you will be familiar with the MK 2 which came in 3 sizes, LV, MV and HV. This is slightly bigger than the MV and I've been very happy paddling it since I bought it new in 2010. The footrests adjust while sitting in the comfortable cockpit and the skeg works. It has a silva P70 compass fitted. All the hatchs are dry. I learned a great deal in this boat, it has one repair, done by the manufacturer and is sound. It is a boat that slices through the water and has great directional stability. It's been a great leading platform up to sea state 4 and can cope with more (than I can!). There's plenty of paddling fun to be had with this boat, for beginners through to leaders and multi day expeditions, one of my first trips in it was a 4 day camping expedition.
Price is £500, to reflect it's condition

... and the best Scorpio in my opinion! I would be tempted at this price, but I already have one! I would highly recommend this to sea kayak club members as it is a great sea kayak!
Thanks Nigel
