Hi
You are going great guns with forwards, backwards, stopping, turning and avoiding swans / avoiding falling out!
Joe fancies a capsize next week so I suggest we go over paddle strokes so far plus moving sideways as an extra. Lara you might want to watch and learn but if you want to try too that is also fine. I suggest we save the capsize until later in the session and try ways to improve turning (edging) and ways to stop a capsize (brace strokes) before this. …..and they may lead to a natural capsize.
I will remind you, but if you fall in hold onto your paddle or grab it, try and get to your boat and hold onto it. Depending how you are feeling we will get you onshore or I can help you learn the technique to get back in the boat on the water with a helping hand. (The latter is more helpful in my opinion but then I am more used to falling in).
It is Joe’s last session this week.:( and we may have a new beginner having a try out.
Let me know if there is something specific you want to do. This is all about you, not what I want. 🙃

Hi Laura, I am back in Exeter at the weekend for a few weeks and am keen to pick up where(ish) I left off. Could you let me know if anything is planned or who I should contact. Thanks J
Sorry Joe, been away all summer. The coaching is over now BUT there are weekly paddles on the canal on a Tuesday and kayak polo. People will be very keen to help. If you are happy for your contact to go on the What’s app group you will have an idea of who will be there.
Hi Laura, yes please. My number is 07387984656, I have been busy myself and have rarely been in one place for more than a week or so. I am around next week and then more consistently from the end of the month. Thanks
