TREE MAINTENANCE WORKS ALONG LOWER CANAL SECTIONS

Good evening

We have just begun annual tree cutting maintenance schedule along the lower sections of the Canal
This applies predominantly to willows and other smaller trees along the Canal edges to mitigate the risk of roots undermining the Canal banks

The Canal team are working from the uniflote pontoon on the west side from the Canal side car park to the M5 bridge and the east side from Topsham Lock Cottage to the Sludge Berth

The will be using chainsaws and a wood chipper at these locations so works signage will be displayed on the towpaths.

Water users are advised to allow plenty of room when passing.
