Valley Avocet LV

Is there one of these as a club boat? I've been offered one for sale but wanted to try sitting in the LV cockpit before traveling to view the one. I can use an LV Scorpio but generally prefer the MV for the Scorpio so if anyone has experience of using this boat or confirm if there is a club one I could give it a go on Tuesday evening. Thanks in advance

  • Yes, yellow boat with valley on tbe side sea boat aisle
  • Hi Fiona

An avocet LV is the boat that I paddle, and would be too small for you. The club yellow sea kayak is an avocet which is the next size up. It is also likely to be too small. Avocets are the smallest sea kayaks around, along with the Rockpool isel, and the SKUK Echo.

  • Thanks for comments. Would the fact it being rotomould rather than fibreglass make any difference? The seller is similar size to me but may be why selling!
  • I have an (old) rotomoulded avocet in the club shed that you're welcome to try. I have no idea if it's a 'normal' or 'lv', but I like it because it's snug on me so it's definitely not very big! It's old enough that I don't know what models they made at the time. It's heavy though, watch out! I think it's in rack 40, one above Jane's boats.

Do you have a link to the one you're looking at?
  • If it's the one in Yelverton, then it looks a lot like the club's yellow one that Mike mentioned

Thanks James, a couple of options to look at tomorrow, appreciate that. Sounds like my hips might be too large though!
  • If it is, the club is looking at it too
  • Amazing the boat reached about £950 in bidding!
  • Yes, it went up £450 in last 30 seconds!
