Sea Kayak Award (3*) - Questions

Hi,
I wondered if anyone could help - I have a couple of questions about the Sea Kayak Award (3*) starting on 02/07/2019 - I have not yet signed up but am wondering about whether I would be able to do the course.

  • I have done the sea kayak 2 star and spent about 8 days paddling at sea but have not done the capsize/rescue in a sea kayak as I was away that week - do I have to have done this before I can do the 3*?
  • Is there any option for help from others in getting boats to where they need to be each week as I can't transport them myself.

    Hi Kathy

    Your experience level would be ok for signing up for this course. However you would need to find transport for your boat. I think there is already a shortage of transport for tomorrow, and the club doesn't have a trailer etc.

    Have a look at the other thread re transport arrangements.

    Hi Jane - thanks for your message. I have just found the other thread. Perhaps I will just keep looking out for if there is opportunities for getting a boat there in the future.
