Rolling etc Teignmouth back beach Weds 8 Jul 6pm

Session is weather permitting.

Any interest? This would be a session focusing on getting wet, getting upside down, and getting back in boats.

That could be short boats or sea kayaks. Other coaches willing to help people roll very welcome.

We'll need to practise in pairs. If you're working towards sea kayak award this will help embed rescues. Coastal award people, being familiar helping buddies you paddle with routinely is really empowering. Anyone who wants to brush up a roll, let's practice. If you can't roll, let's move that forward. And if it's not going anywhere, at least equip yourself with an alternative self rescue.

Wear clothes for immersion. Bring a mask or nose clip. Bring a hot drink for afterwards. If you get sea sick bring ginger!

I'm keen, but I have a site visit near Newquay that day. I hope to be back in time. Once I have done a few rolls myself, I am happy to help others. Unfortunately, due to my site visit, I can't offer to come into the Club and help with lifts.

  • Yes please

  • Maggie. Just seen this after Mike B mentioned it tonight. Unfortunately I have not been following the thread and I will be rescue boat driving on the river Exe so can’t join you. Pity.

It'll be good to see you, Chris. Lower Point car park by the lifeboat slipway. But if that's busy people may need to trolley down from the top car park.

    Owen - another time!
  • Hi Maggie just a quick thanks for putting this on really enjoyable evening
