Paddlesport leader training programme Tues 15 July UPDATED

I plan to offer some training sessions for paddlers who would like to work towards the BC Paddlesport Leader.

This programme will suit sea kayakers who have achieved sea kayak award, or similar standard in other recreational craft.

The first session will take place on Tuesday 15 July at 6.30pm. Please reply to this thread to say if you can come along.

Other sessions will take place on estuaries or the sea.

The training programme will suit people working towards any of the following:
Paddlesport leader for sheltered water
Paddlesport touring leader for moderate water
Sea kayak leader for moderate water

This document on pages 8 and 9 shows the remit of the qualifications:

The PL moderate water is for inland open water where the paddlers are no more than 500 metres offshore and in max F4. eg the Exe estuary, Dart estuary, some parts of Plymouth Sound.
SK leader for moderate water is on the sea, with landings with 2 nautical miles.
The definitions of sheltered water and moderate water are on pages 4 and 5.

Tuesday 15 July
I have gone through what I need to cover in the first session and it will be best as a classroom session. It only needs one hour. I suggest we do it at 7.15pm; this means you can paddle before the session if you wish.
